FEELS

FEELS : A Global Emotions Visualizer

Feels leverages a Twitter API to gain emotional data from posts. From which, it deciphers how particular objects will manifest visually. Varying symbols from different cultures juxtaposed with Freudian and Jungian archetypes fluctuate in size, opacity, speed and position. Additionally, and according to the amount of each primary emotion present within twitter posts, the volume of its paired audio will fluctuate up or down in accordance to that data.

The aim of this project was to bring awareness to the disingenuous occurrence of Joy throughout social media and to track the relative emotions contingently.

All of the symbols utilized correlate to particular emotions or subset of emotions. Many of the components are hand drawn or painted with oils. The majority of the project was created using Autodesk Maya and the Unity game engine. Access the FEELS app through the Looking Glass Library.
